About Big Ticket Jobs

Hi, I'm Steve.

30 years finding where a business is leaking — and building the system that stops it.

How this started

A surf shop, $150K, and a question that stuck.

Years ago I helped grow a struggling surf shop — two locations, ~$150K a year — into a $5M business with four stores and an online shop I built before Shopify existed.

None of it came from a big idea. It came from finding the leaks.

Chargebacks ~$60K a year. Built a fraud system around it. Down to ~$2K.
Free Shipping Quietly costing $50K. Read the data, switched to flat-rate. $10K surplus — customers liked it better.
One Promotion Tuned right, it filled a UPS truck with shoe orders. Every single week.

No big swings. Each one a specific leak, found by looking at the data, then fixed. That's the thread through everything since.

How I work

Exclusivity depends on the engine.

Engines 01, 03, and 05 are exclusive: one shop per trade, per county. I won't build the same revenue channel for two direct competitors.

Engines 02, 04, and 06 are not county-locked. Those systems are built around your operation — your call rules, your crew, your workflow, your data.

If there's a direct conflict I can't handle cleanly, I'll say so before we start.

Sound familiar?

If any of this sounds familiar.

A full schedule that doesn't feel as profitable as it should

Calls that might be getting missed, but nobody's checked

Old customers nobody's called in years

A reputation better than what shows up online

If something landed, we're probably talking about the same leak I've spent 30 years finding.

A Revenue Leak Review is 15 minutes. I'll tell you what I see — and whether I'm the right person to help. If I'm not, I'll tell you that too.

Revenue Leak Review

Find the leak before you pick the engine

Fifteen minutes to pinpoint where profitable work is already slipping away.

Missed calls
Dead quotes
Weak field conversations
Poor local visibility
Messy dispatch handoffs
Unclear next step

You leave knowing where the leak is, which engine fixes it, and whether this is a good fit. If there's a simpler fix, I'll tell you.
